I went with a 50 watt 16ohm version. I added a further stage to incorporate a bypass-able L-Pad for fine tuning and further reduction. Works a charm and sound incredible. WebYou can add a switch, or you can wire it like a guitar pedal so that one of the input jacks switches it on and off. I would like to know more details about the parts you used. I want to build reactive load box too, but I don't want to spend $50 on just one capacitor, plus more for the resistors and inductors. 3. level 2.

WebJan 7, 2024 · My basis for saying the above is my testing of the JohnH DIY reactive attenuator (marshallforum). I ran some riffs thru a looper, recorded the speaker output with a mic, and normalized and compared the clips. From low to full attenuation, there was no difference, judged both by ear and by overlaying the frequency spectrum plots. See below. WebI have used a real cheap resistive attenuator with a different amp before and quickly got rid of it. It was adjustable (yay!) but really muted the sound, cut the highs and chime and generally sounded like I was playing an amp behind a blanket.
