I went with a 50 watt 16ohm version. I added a further stage to incorporate a bypass-able L-Pad for fine tuning and further reduction. Works a charm and sound incredible. I ran some riffs thru a looper, recorded the speaker output with a mic, and normalized and compared the clips. From low to full attenuation, there was no difference, judged both by ear and by overlaying the frequency spectrum plots. See below.
