Interesting to hear that fitting a tow bar helps, I've been steering well clear of C70s with a tow bar in my search for a C70. Apparently, you get used to the scuttle shake, I think the car is more about looks and open top driving than a sporty drive. After driving a C70, my V70 feels like a sports car!

Put the panels in the rear (they store snugly on polystyrene formers) and the car’s surprisingly good structural rigidity is evident. There is not one shimmy of scuttle shake. Mind you I detect a not inconsiderable amount of scuttle shake on my unchopped 9-3 saloon; sort of reminiscent of a Cortina of years gone by.
